Human trafficking and Sexual Slavery
Do you know that, in our poor neighbour countries such as Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand and India, approximately one million children are being trafficked every year? Yes, children. Children from the age range of 4 to 9 years are trafficked for sexual slavery and each and every child get raped for atleast 10 to 14 times a day? Most of the children do not even get the chance to live until 16 or 17 years old like us as most of them dies because of the well known AIDS disease.
Do you know that, in Mumbai, females in red light areas or sexual labourers only gets around 50 rupees for their service per customer? Which is only equivalent to 3.47 ringgits? Are we women are that cheap? Besides that, selling young girls are globalised now. They even have website pages for it and they even can deliver the young girls to the buyer on any part of the world and yes, it happens in Malaysia too. For your further information, some of the young girls that are forced into or involved in sexual slavery, also get their womb removed by their owner so that they would not get monthly period and prostitution can be carried out every single day. Don’t you think the young girls who are trafficked and forced into sexual slavery have their own dreams just like us?
Dear young ladies who are reading this, be grateful that you are not one of them. If one you happened to be sexually abused or harassed, speak up. Speak up to someone you can trust and believe or even to the school counseller, teachers or friends. Silence does not help.
